Protecting Workers’ Lives: A Safety and Health Guide for Unions is a book for workers, written by workers. It is a tool that people who work at factories, mines, construction sites and businesses can use to help protect themselves from occupational disease and injury. Although this book can be an effective tool to prevent accidents, workers must never think that this or any other single document is the solution to all their occupational safety and health concerns. To expand upon the concepts introduced in this book, readers should also take advantage of the extensive resources identified throughout the text and in the Appendixes on the accompanying CD-ROM.
