Most employers are required to establish an emergency action plan because of the presence of fire extinguishers. Employers are also required to do emergency planning under the Occupational Safety and Health Administrator’s (OSHA) General Duty clause.
Even if your not required to do so, the best way to protect yourself, your workers, and your business is to expect the unexpected and develop a well-thought-out emergency action plan to guide you when immediate action is necessary. This Guide is designed to help you, the employer, plan for that possibility.
By answering the questions throughout the Guide and Emergency Planner can develop a site-specific emergency response plan.
